Yoga ( Sanskrit :- योग)

  • Yoga is the bridge to Physical, Mental and Spiritual Practice and Discipline.

  • Yoga is a Technique to balance Physical and Mental Health.

  • Yoga will help you to reshape and untangle your habitual or unconscious patterns of life.

  • Yoga will help you to build good habits, discipline lifestyle and self inquiry about inner your peace.

  • Yoga gives you greater internal state, clarity of mind and peace or happiness for your soul.

  • Yoga is described in Vedas.

  • Yoga is one of the six Philosophies of Hinduism. Those six Philosophies are :-

  1. Sankhya

  2. Yoga

  3. Nyaya

  4. Vaisheshika

  5. Mimamsa

  6. Vedanta

Patanjali defines yoga as having eight components. Those Eight Limbs of Yoga are :-

  1. Yama ( Abstinences )

  2. Niyama ( Observances )

  3. Asana ( Yoga Postures )

  4. Pranayama ( Breathing Control )

  5. Pratyahara (Withdrawal of the senses )

  6. Dharana ( Concentration )

  7. Dhyana ( Mediation )

  8. Samadhi ( Absorption )

  • Yoga helps your physical body. Yoga postures can help increase:-

  3. Mobility

  4. Balance

  • During Yoga, Your body goes through a full range and variety of movements can cure your achs and pains associated with tension or poor postural habits.

  3. Iyengar Yoga

  4. Kundalini Yoga

  5. Ashtanga Yoga

  6. Bikram Yoga

  7. Yin Yoga

  8. Restorative yoga

  9. Prenatal Yoga

  10. Anusara Yoga

  11. Jivamukti Yoga

  • Five Elements of Yoga

  1. The Earth (Prithvi)

  2. The Water (Apah, Jala)

  3. The Fire (Agni)

  4. The Air (Vayu)

  5. The Ethar (Akasha)

  • There are Five Yamas in total listed in Patanjali's Sutras:-

  1. Ahimsa (Non-Harming)

  2. Satya (Truthfulness)

  3. Asteya (Non- Stealing)

  4. Brahmacharya

  5. Aparigraha (Non-Greed)

  • Patanjali listed a total of Five Niyamas:-

  1. Saucha (Cleanliness)

  2. Santosha (Contentment)

  3. Tapas (Discipline)

  4. Svadhyaya (Study of the Self)

  5. Isvara Pranidhana (Surrender to a higher being)
